What is the mapping of European Research Area?

The mapping is an interactive map of Europe linked to a database on Research and Education Area about specific fields from Capright project in Europe.

This tool aims to show either Research Teams (n=300) or Master Programmes (n=85).

Both mappings include:
• Basic elements such as: acronym of the team and its meaning / name of the Master Program, university and/or institution (address), city, country, website address and European network.
• Fields of research/education such as: labour market and employment policies; human resources; professional development; social dialogue and collective bargaining; social security and social policies (social rights); wage; welfare; political deliberation and democracy at work.
The area of the mapping encompasses:
• 32 countries for the mapping about Research Teams: 27 from the European Union, 3 official candidate countries which are: Croatia, Macedonia and Turkey, and 2 associated countries, Norway and Switzerland.
• 11 countries for the mapping about Master Programmes: Bulgaria, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Belgium, France, Germany, Switzerland, Portugal, Italy, Spain and the UK.

How was built the mapping?

Key methods to gather that information were:
• Conducting questionnaire-based personal interviews with representatives of institutions providing Master Training Programme;
• Taking contacts with professors, tutors and researchers from the abovementioned fields, applying various communication channels – in-person meetings, conversations via telephone or e-mail correspondence;
• Carrying out questionnaire-based survey research among the institutions, tutors and researchers and gathering information on “method of voluntary respondents”;
• Conducting two focus groups to study the contents of Master Degree Programmes in various disciplines and subjects in order to identify those areas connected to CAPRIGHT project themes;
• Developing and analyzing the results of educational and research projects relevant to CAPRIGHT themes and areas;
• Studying relevant Internet data sources for research teams, universities, institutions and colleges.
